APP

With the advent of Mobile devices, Programs were suddenly calld APP's...

So here, APP refers to a mobile App, that can be installed on a Phone or Tablet through Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Many resources for paddlers come in the form of an APP. While every website can be added to a phone's home screen and then used like an APP, this has some limitations.
Only a native APP can use all features of a Mobile device. Access all sensors, etc.

For a user, the main downside of an APP is that it can not be used on a desktop, where data-entry would be more convenient. But a project might provide an APP and a Website at the same time.
